At Vakantiekids Hengelo we organize great activities for children from 4 to 12 years old during the May and summer holidays. During this vibrant period, children get the unique opportunity to play, learn and make new friends in a safe and stimulating environment. Our programs are designed to promote both creativity and teamwork, while also providing fun and adventure.

To make these unforgettable experiences possible, we are looking for enthusiastic volunteers who want to help us organize these activities and guide the young participants. Whether you are available for a few hours a week or want to help the entire period, your commitment, ideas and enthusiasm make a big difference in creating an unforgettable time for the children.

Volunteer from 13 years old.

Too old to come and play? Then become a volunteer, this is possible from the age of 13. You are then a 'junior volunteer' until your 18th birthday. With a few exceptions, you do everything that older volunteers do and you always get an adult volunteer as a buddy. And if you are an 18 er, then we are definitely looking for you for the right mix in our volunteer group.

Volunteer from a few hours.

You can become a volunteer with us from a few hours! This means that it is not mandatory to be present every day during the event. You can already participate from half a day. But if you can only come in the evenings or just outside the summer holidays, there is still plenty to do in the preparations. With us, you can decide for yourself how much time you put into it, you indicate when you can!

Of course, you can also register together with your best friend so that you already have someone you feel comfortable with.

For 2025 the dates are: April 27 to May 4

and August 10 to August 23.

If you are scheduled and unfortunately cannot come, please let us know as soon as possible so we can arrange a replacement. We understand that situations can sometimes change!

Always do something that suits you.

There is so much to experience with us that there is always something that matches your skills or interests. Together with you, we will discuss how we can best deploy you. If you are a volunteer at Vakantiekids for several days or weeks, you can also participate in various activities.

As a volunteer you support the guidance of various activities such as crafts, sports and games, and creative workshops. Every day is unique and full of fun!

In addition, there are various other tasks that you can perform, such as setting up, preparing materials, helping with registration, preparing soft drinks, doing the dishes (that is also part of it), and various other cleaning activities. As a team, we ensure that the activities are well prepared, the terrain is in order and all necessary facilities are present.

Do I receive training as a volunteer?

Certainly, we offer a short training for all volunteers, so that you can get started optimally prepared.

This training will take place during the introduction day. We will also go through all activities and provide you with tips and tricks. The date of the introduction day will be communicated to you after registration. During this day you will also sign your agreement and the code of conduct.

We take good care of you!

Every day we offer a delicious cup of coffee (or tea) and bottles of cold water. Of course there are also snacks available, and you are more than welcome to join us for lunch. After a day of Holiday Kids or an evening of preparation, we enjoy a drink together, with or without a tasty snack. In addition, you have the opportunity to cook and dine with a nice group of people in the evening. During the set-up and breakdown of the event, we also provide lunch and/or dinner when we are at work. In short, we arrange everything for you!

You get a lot in return!

In addition to those happy children's faces, volunteering with us has a number of other advantages. For example, your own children can come and play for free on the day that you are present. We also organize various fun activities throughout the year, in which you can participate for free or for a small fee. Finally, volunteering looks good on your CV.
